Dignified Menstruation Media Fellowship 2026

Dignified Menstruation Media Fellowship 2026

Introduction

Dignified Menstruation is an innovative and holistic approach that seeks to transform not only narratives around menstruation but also broader issues of gender-based violence, human rights, and feminism. Despite its significance, menstruation is often considered a private matter rather than a development priority.

While media plays a critical role in shaping public discourse, it has yet to fully recognize dignified menstruation as an urgent human rights concern. Existing coverage often focuses on menstrual products or taxation, overlooking deeper issues of menstrual discrimination, systemic inequality, and patriarchy.

The Global South Coalition for Dignified Menstruation (GSCDM) continues to advance this agenda through training and advocacy at local, national, and global levels.
